Hockney's work mainly consists of him placing several photographs together to form one image. Whether these photos were taken of the same object in the same shoot, or they were of several different things, Hockney's work is truly incredible. I like this particular creation of Hockney's because it just looks simple and even though it is sort of geometric, it flows very, very well. I also just love things that incorporate city/buildings/architecture, but also nature.

“You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.” ― Dr. Seuss

Theme/Category: Love/Friendship

1.) "And now, how, we like to say that we're in love/ doesn't it, seem like that should be enough/ but, the world will roll their eyes but I still think/ well I still think that we're in love."
- 'I Still Think' by Darren Criss

For this quote, the image in my head is of two people holding hands, but you can only see the hands and some of the arm. Just two people who enjoy the company of one another in a very simple relationship.

2.)  "It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

The image I have in my head for this is two, teenage, best friends like jumping off of a wall together or doing something that seems really stupid to others but the friends don't care because they are just doing something with each other that they can tell their kids about, later in life.

3.) "To think/ It's been here all along/ Somewhere to belong/ And a reason/ A something to believe in/ I've finally found it/ A place where I'm wanted/ This must be how it feels/ To have a home."
- 'To Have a Home' by Darren Criss

For this lyric, I see someone sitting in their room, cuddled up in a blanket reading a book or smiling/laughing in their sweatshirt and sweatpants being comfortable in their environment.

In my head, the images work together, but in execution I have a feeling that they would stand more alone.

Journal Entry due Dec. 17

I have two professions I would love to create a photo story for. One would be my dream job, an interior designer. I'd want to study this profession because I want to get closer to it and I want to be able to get up close and personal with something that I am really passionate about. The other profession I would want to crate a photo story for would be a Youtuber/Entertainer. I have a HUGE obsession with Youtubers and even while they claim their lives to be boring, I really want to see what an average day in the life of Grace Helbig, or Mamrie Hart, or Hannah Hart, or Meghan Reinks, or Coleen Ballinger, or Bethany Mota, or Shane Dawson, or Jesse and Jeana from PVP, or The Fine Brothers, or Jenna Marbles, would be like. I just love their lives that we are through the camera and I want to see all of it. (Also I really want to start a YouTube channel soooooo...)

Journal Entry due Dec. 12

I don't think I've really observed anything really different about my teacher, but I definitely have noticed how different she is in other classes besides my own. In my class, we usually have big class discussions and we have much more fun with our learning. It doesn't seem like a harsh learning environment where we are told what to do and spend an entire class period writing essays with impossible guidelines. In the period I have observed, my teacher is a little less involved with the class and stands back a little more. There are not very many class discussions, but that also has to deal with the material she is teaching to them. Our classes are working on two completely different things and that probably effects what she can and cannot discuss. She is still the same person and teacher but it is much different from the learning environment I am used to in her class.

Overall, I'm not facing ad many issues as I though I would encounter. It is still a little awkward taking pictures because she does sit at her desk for the majority if the period. She is also pretty camera shy and she occasionally apologizes for getting up and moving around in one of my shots, which I always remind her is the point of the project! But the thing I am finding to be most difficult is distracting the students and not being as quite ninja-like as I had hoped. They are curious, which I understand, but I still don't want to get in the way of their class time and distract them.

Overall, the thing I have definitely noticed the most is how my teacher is the same person throughout all of her classes, but she can shape shift into different forms of herself depending on the environment.
