I don't think I've really observed anything really different about my teacher, but I definitely have noticed how different she is in other classes besides my own. In my class, we usually have big class discussions and we have much more fun with our learning. It doesn't seem like a harsh learning environment where we are told what to do and spend an entire class period writing essays with impossible guidelines. In the period I have observed, my teacher is a little less involved with the class and stands back a little more. There are not very many class discussions, but that also has to deal with the material she is teaching to them. Our classes are working on two completely different things and that probably effects what she can and cannot discuss. She is still the same person and teacher but it is much different from the learning environment I am used to in her class.
Overall, I'm not facing ad many issues as I though I would encounter. It is still a little awkward taking pictures because she does sit at her desk for the majority if the period. She is also pretty camera shy and she occasionally apologizes for getting up and moving around in one of my shots, which I always remind her is the point of the project! But the thing I am finding to be most difficult is distracting the students and not being as quite ninja-like as I had hoped. They are curious, which I understand, but I still don't want to get in the way of their class time and distract them.
Overall, the thing I have definitely noticed the most is how my teacher is the same person throughout all of her classes, but she can shape shift into different forms of herself depending on the environment.
Great observation, Sarah. I can definitely envision everything you are describing! Don't give up on her.
